| RCAF/RAF Aircraft at WarThis video was produced using rare 16mm colour film shot at RCAF and RAF bases during World War II. The scenes of 20 different RCAF and RAF aircraft were filmed in theatres of war in Europe, North Africa, Southeast Asia; and also in Canada. On the home front in Canada, the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan was one of the RCAF's major contributions to the war effort. Pilots and air crew are seen training in Tiger Moths, Harvards, Ansons, and other aircraft at bases across the country. Home defence squadron aircraft such as the Hudson, Canso, and Digby are seen on submarine patrol over the Atlantic.Overseas, famous British and American aircraft such as the Spitfire, Hurricane, Lancaster, and B-25 Mitchell are seen on the ground and in the air. Included are scenes of a bombing raid on a German airfield by Mosquitos of 627 Squadron in 1944, and an A-20 Boston bombing mission during the North African campaign. Aircraft featured are the Spitfire, Hurricane, Mosquito, Halifax, Lancaster, Wellington, A-20 Havoc/Boston, B-25 Mitchell, B-24 Liberator, P-36 Mohawk, Hudson, Canso,C-47 Dakota, Douglas Digby, Fleet Finch,Tiger Moth, Avro Anson, Harvard, Fairey Battle, and Grumman Goose.
